General Electric, formed in the late 1800s, grew to be one of the largest corporations in the United States during the 20th Century. GE manufactures many different household appliances, including: refrigerators and freezers, cooking products, washers and dryers, dishwashers, compactors, disposers, venting systems, water systems, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves and other small kitchen appliances. GE also manufactures a wide variety of household electronics like telephones, CD players, camcorders and televisions. GE's microwave ovens are available in countertop, above-the-cooktop and built-in varieties.

GE countertop microwave ovens are available in a variety of different styles and sizes. They are made both as straight microwave or combination microwave/convection oven units. GE makes compact, family-size, full-size and mid-size countertop microwaves. They vary in size from 0.7 cubic feet up to 2.2 cubic feet with many different sizes in between. GE makes approximately 43 different models of countertop microwaves. Colors available include white, black, bisque, silver metallic and stainless steel.

GE's built-in line of microwave ovens all feature Advantium technology. They are built for a cabinet width of 30 inches. Advantium ovens offer a variety of cooking modes, including: baking, broiling, browning, roasting, microwaving and grilling. Their Speedcook technology delivers oven-quality food up to eight times faster than a conventional oven. Over 100 pre-programmed menu items are included within its memory. Sensor cooking controls automatically adjust the time and power for excellent cooking results. This line is available in bisque, black, stainless steel and white.

GE's above-the-cooktop models are available as traditional microwaves, convection ovens or with Advantium technology. Convection models cook food to flavorful and beautifully browned results. Convection ovens bake fast: producing oven-quality results up to 25% faster than conventional cooking. An Auto-Recipe Conversion feature automatically converts standard recipe temperatures to proper convection settings. There are models built for 30 or 36 inch cabinet widths. Sizes range from 1.6 cubic feet up to 2.0 cubic feet. These models are available in bisque, black, white and stainless steel.
